Getting error message during import

During any import I now receive the attached error message. It was working previously. I am on version 8.0.0. Not sure if I updated before or after my last successful import.

Hi thorin33,
What format of file are you importing? QIF, OFX, OFC, other? You should be able to tell by the file extension. For example:
MyFile.ofx

Also, there should be a file with some details on the error here:
C:\Users\<thorin33>\AppData\Roaming\Metalogic\Finance Explorer\temp\trace.txt
Replace "<thorin33>" with your Windows user name. You can send me that file as a private message or just add it as an attachment (it contains no identifying information).

And lastly, are you running the regular or portable version of the application?

That will help with the problem investigation.

I used OFX and QFX files.

I am using the regular version.

Sent you the trace file.

I've reviewed the trace. While there's not enough information there to ascertain the exact cause, it does help a lot in narrowing down where the problem is.

I suspect that the issue is with the category rules. Could you open them:
Tools > Category Rules...
And verify that everything under the "Column" heading is one of the tree valid choices: Description, Amount and Notes.
If there are any extraneous characters or if there is no value, please select the appropriate column or delete the invalid rule.

That solved the problem. I had a category rule without the first column filled in.
