Stock Capital Gains

You need more information, I think to calculate stuff needed for TAXES. Such as capital gains.
You need to remember the stock commission so they can be added to the COST BASIS.
It needs to separate Long-term capital gains from short term.
It needs to separate Qualified Dividends.

Hi bab9e9,
I will evaluate your feedback for a future release. These would be some larger changes and would fit in a larger release than what is planned for the next few months so it will be a longer term change.

All the best,

Stock Capital Gains

Hey there, has anyone got any knowledge on capital gains tax in Australia.

I have a 50 share in a townhouse in Queensland but have moved back to NZ to live. I would like to keep the investment for the long term but dont want to pay 30 plus of the profits to the tax man when it comes time to sell.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

That is correct.

The 3 is like a guarantee for the government that the non resident will pay some money in concept of capital gains before he goes.

If it is less than the capital gains tax, you just leave it; but if it is more than the capital gains tax or you have not had any profit you can ask to get the money back.
